When towing My 06 was fine at highway speeds but was overheating while in traffic. Having all ready replaced the oil cooler, radiator, egr cooler, and head gaskets with arp studs converting to this 97 7.3 mechanical fixed the last weak link.

The 4r100 will slip the converter clutch a bit, thus the pwm lockup, but again only on certain shifts and how much etc depends on pcm code. Once its locked it stays there unless you hit the brake pedal or let off the accel, again depending on pcm code. I'm a cert Ford tranny tech at a dealership 20 years now, I may know a thing or two about them.
